Tomorrow evening, Romania will introduce us to their fifth and last semi-final, with the last 12 contestants in the selection.

Among them, EverMorph !

How would you define yourself in one word?
Evolving.

How would you describe your state of mind when you're on stage?
It’s a mixture of many emotions but the one I’m after is bliss. Fortunately I get to that almost every time, even if just for a moment.

How would you quickly tell your life story?
Short version: EverMorph is about evolution, about growing and learning as life goes by. As I grow, so will my music, in time.

Long version: This is not such a short story, so I’ll try my best to tell it quickly. EverMorph is (about) me, Alin. I started thinking and wanting to do this some 10 years ago. Life took me on different paths but the desire to write my own music never left my heart. And I do mean “my own”. I am part of other bands as well, I write music in many scenarios, but the music that I write for EverMorph is so personal that I don’t see it anywhere else, I don’t see it sung and played by anybody else. So about 4-5 years ago I started to seriously do this. Started writing songs, lyrics, come up with album ideas, graphics and so on. And slowly gained more confidence in myself and just believed more and more in this project. Last year I met with some old classmates and got that lightbulb moment and thought they could help me in my quest, and we could do greater things together than I could ever do by myself. And now, here I am, “with a little help from my friends”, in the national selection!

How does one make you angry?
By lying.

How does one make you happy?
With kind words.

How would you define your taste in music?
Like wine. It gets better as time goes by.

If there was just 1 artist you could listen to for the rest of your life, who would it be?
Sting.

How would you describe Live your life, your song for the contest?
Live your life is an incentive to just live your life as it is. To not worry so much. Not overthink things. Live happens anyway so why not enjoy it and make beautiful things out of it?

How did you make the decision of entering Selectia Nationala this year?
On the spot, I guess. The idea just came to me and I thought it was a good one.

How would you make us want to come to Romania?
A picture is worth a thousand words, so:

How do you picture Eurovision in 10 years?
Hm. People have always “told the future”. Some were way ahead, some turned out to be way behind the reality as it came around. I have no idea what kind of technologies will be available 10 years from now. Music is already being made very differently today as opposed to 10 years ago. I use anything I can get my hands on and get some sounds out of, so...who knows what’s next?

How are you going to win Eurovision 2018?
The energy and the message of this song will convince the audience that this is just the simple truth and you should live your life as it is.

Alin, thank you very much for this interview ! He will sing Live Your Life on stage in Sighisoara tomorrow!
